Next show is in one week! I’ve finished sitting down with the storytellers and the stories this month are AMAZING. I’m super-excited.
The show is Tuesday May 31st at The Garrison – tickets are $8.50 advance from THIS LINK HERE! Full details below.
First: we were in the bloody newspaper! It was very exciting. Journalist Zoe McKnight has (or maybe now had?) a crippling fear of public speaking, so she came and told a story, and then wrote about it. She said that the experience was “like a hit of dopamine” and that she “felt like [she] had won the lottery”, which is nice.
You can read the whole article, here:
https://www.thestar.com/life/2016/04/05/conquering-a-fear-of-public-speaking.html
and you can watch her story, here:
Below are full details for the show. See you on Tuesday!

THANK YOU to everyone who came along to the show this month! Today, I’m a warm, happy blob of emotion, feeling so much love for humans and their stories and human stories.
Here are the links for the storytellers:
Zoe McKnight (who should NOT have been watching that movie on the plane):
is on Twitter, here: @zoemck
Rick Fishell (not burying a gun) doesn’t have a blog or a twitter account, but I’m really hoping he writes a book, so when he does, I’ll post it here!
Adil Dhala (love; community):
http://socialinnovation.ca – CSI is the (AMAZING) organisation he works for and talked about, aka the Centre for Social Innovation (of which I am a community member and you can be too!).
http://www.storiesofours.org – is the storytelling show that featured in his story – one of the best in our city! They also have a Facebook group, here:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/900721139994418/
And if you live in Regent Park – or know someone who does – here are the details for the Community Potluck: http://socialinnovation.ca/potluck
Sage Tyrtle (who made you cry/ wee out of your eyes):
http://www.tyrtle.com is her website. If you’re seeing this before Sat 2nd April, come (with me!) to see her incredible solo show this weekend, by getting tickets at www.tyrtle.com/boxes
Paul Hutcheson (who made you laugh until you wee):
has a monthly show at Glad Day called Hutch and Friends, and the next one is next Friday April 8th! Here’s the Facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/1587777364847689

It’s a really lovely night, friendly and warm. There is a 20 minute interval, but quite a few people come on their own with a book or something, so if you fancy doing that, you won’t be the only one.
If you want to come early and grab some food, The Lakeview diner (est 1932) is a few steps away, with the best shakes (I love banana-vanilla) and sweet potato fries in Toronto. Also, The Garrison has tacos. TACOS.
Free entry. You’ll need to get there early to get a good seat (latecomers have to stand at the back).
